2013 - 2014

Boston ICA

“PERFORMANCE” was made in collaboration with choreographer Rashaun Mitchell, and singer-songwriter Stephin Merritt, to celebrate the mystery of performance, individualism, wit, musicality, fancy, and the absurd. Begun during a two-week residency at the Boston ICA in the summer of 2013, PERFORMANCE is inspired by a quote from Richard Avedon: “We all perform. It’s what we do for each other all the time, deliberately or unintentionally. It’s a way of telling about ourselves in the hope of being recognized as what we'd like to be.” 

2014

RedCat Theater

We did a second performance at the RedCat Theater in Los Angeles and modified the sets, costumes, and movement based on the architecture of this new space. We opened the show exposing the underbelly behind the theater and closed it by blowing giant bubbles from the rafters.
